The manufacturing of ferrochrome is made via the reduction of chromite ore. The first is all the raw materials we collect — chrome ore, coke and lime. We precisely weigh and blend these materials in a furnace. Then, we superheat the oven. This results in a chemical reaction which produces ferro chrome.
The technology of ferro chrome is vital for the production of stainless steel. Stainless steel is very strong and lasts for a long time, once it’s made — but it takes a lot of money and energy to get it to that point, using refrigerants and other potent chemicals. It would be much harder to produce the good quality stainless steel we all want without ferro chrome.
